Early September in Tenerife means 27–30°C (81–86°F) with very little rain. The expo halls are air-conditioned, but hydrate aggressively — the heat and humidity will affect performance more than you expect.

The Venue: Recinto Ferial de Tenerife

The Recinto Ferial is one of the largest exhibition centres in the Canary Islands, located on the southern edge of Santa Cruz's city centre. It's well connected by bus and tram, and within walking distance of the waterfront and main hotels.

What's nearby:

  • Auditorio de Tenerife — 10-minute walk. Santiago Calatrava's iconic concert hall, one of Spain's most photographed modern buildings
  • Palmetum botanical garden — 10-minute walk. Tropical palm gardens built on a former landfill
  • César Manrique Maritime Park — 15-minute walk. Saltwater pools and ocean views

Where to Stay

Santa Cruz is compact and affordable — significantly cheaper than most European HYROX destinations. A 4-star hotel with a spa near the venue costs less than a basic room in London or Paris. All four hotels below are within walking distance of the expo halls.

We've picked four hotels that work for a HYROX race weekend — close to the venue, well-reviewed, with the facilities you want around a race. Prices are based on September rates.
