The Venue: Strawberry Arena
Strawberry Arena is Scandinavia's largest indoor venue (capacity 65,000) and the biggest venue HYROX has ever used for a World Championship. It's located in Arenastaden in Solna, just north of central Stockholm — 7 minutes by commuter train from the city centre.
What's nearby:
- Westfield Mall of Scandinavia — 4-minute walk. Nordics' largest mall with 200+ shops and restaurants
- Lake Råstasjön — directly next to the arena, good for a pre-race walk
- Midsummer x HYROX Fan Village — outdoor festival area with live stages, food and drinks
Where to Stay
Staying in Solna puts you within walking distance of the arena, with hotels 10–20% cheaper than central Stockholm. The commuter train also gets you from central Stockholm to the arena in 7 minutes, so staying in the city works well too.
June is Stockholm's most expensive month. Book early — the World Championships will push demand hard, especially in the Solna area.
We've picked four hotels across two areas: two in Solna (walking distance to the arena) and two in central Stockholm (7-minute commuter train to the venue). All are well-reviewed with the kind of facilities you want around a race — good breakfast, fitness and recovery options, and easy transport.
Getting There
From Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
Arlanda is 32 km north of the city and 31 km from Strawberry Arena.
| Option | Time | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| SL Commuter Train | ~40 min | 165 SEK (~$18) | Best value. Direct to Solna Station, 10 min walk to arena |
| Arlanda Express + Commuter | ~35 min | 400 SEK (~$43) | Fastest. Express to Central, then commuter to Solna |

| Taxi | ~25–30 min | 500–700 SEK ($54–75) | Most convenient. Pre-book a fixed-price airport taxi |
The SL commuter train from Arlanda to Solna Station is the best option — direct, affordable, and a 10-minute walk from the arena. Download the SL app and buy your ticket before you land.

Where to Eat
Near the Venue
Westfield Mall of Scandinavia (4-minute walk) has a wide selection — pizza, sushi, burgers, Swedish food. Good for quick pre- or post-race meals.
The Social Bar & Bistro — 25th floor of the Quality Hotel at the arena. European bistro food with panoramic views.
Central Stockholm
Swedish food to try:
- Meatballs (köttbullar) — the national dish, available everywhere from fine dining to casual spots
- Östermalms Saluhall — historic food hall with high-quality Swedish food, seafood, and deli items
- Fika — Sweden's coffee-and-pastry ritual. Stop at any café for a kanelbulle (cinnamon bun)
Budget eating: Dagens lunch — most restaurants serve a set lunch plate for 130–160 SEK ($14–17) including drink, salad, and bread (weekdays 11:00–14:00). Supermarkets (ICA, Coop, Hemköp) have excellent prepared food sections.
