HYROX Poznan is one of the best-located races on the calendar. The venue is in the dead centre of the city, steps from the main train station, surrounded by hotels and restaurants. Add some of the lowest prices in European HYROX and a genuinely beautiful Old Town, and you've got one of the easiest race weekends to plan.

| Event | HYROX Poznan 2026 |
| Dates | November 20–22, 2026 |

Late November in Poznan means temperatures between -2°C and 8°C (28–46°F). The expo halls are heated, but pack warm layers for walking between your hotel and the venue.
The Venue: MTP Poznan Expo
MTP Poznan Expo is one of the largest exhibition centres in Central Europe — 150,000 sqm across 13 halls. It sits right in the city centre, a 5-minute walk from the main train station (Poznan Glowny) and 15 minutes on foot from the Old Market Square.
What's nearby:
- Poznan Glowny (Main Station) — 5-minute walk. Trains to the airport, Warsaw, Berlin, and Krakow
- Stary Browar — 10-minute walk. Shopping centre with restaurants, cafes, and a cinema
- Old Market Square (Stary Rynek) — 15-minute walk. Restaurants, bars, and the famous mechanical goats
Where to Stay
Poznan is compact and affordable — one of the cheapest HYROX destinations in Europe. A 4-star hotel with a spa next to the venue costs less than a basic room in London or Paris. Every hotel below is within walking distance of the expo halls, so you won't need transport on race day.
We've picked four hotels that work well for a HYROX race weekend — close to the venue, well-reviewed, and with the kind of facilities you actually want after a race (spas, saunas, good breakfast). Prices are based on November rates, which are significantly lower than peak season.
Getting There
From Poznan Lawica Airport (POZ)
Lawica is a small, efficient airport just 7 km west of the city centre.
| Option | Time | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bus 159 | ~25 min | 5 PLN (~$1.40) | Direct to main station, 5-min walk to venue |
| Night bus 222 | ~30 min | 5 PLN (~$1.40) | Hourly 11 PM–4 AM |
| Taxi | ~15 min | 40–60 PLN (~$11–17) | Fixed-price taxis at the terminal |
| Uber / Bolt | ~15 min | 25–45 PLN (~$7–12) | Usually cheaper than taxis |
Bus 159 runs frequently and drops you at Poznan Glowny — a 5-minute walk from the venue. Buy a 45-minute ticket (5 PLN) from the machine at the bus stop or use the Jakdojade app.
Flying In
Poznan Lawica has direct flights from many European cities. If there's no direct route, the easiest connections are via Warsaw (WAW) — 2.5 hours by train — or Berlin (BER) — 3 hours by train.
Public Transport
Poznan's tram and bus network is run by MPK. You likely won't need it if staying near the venue, but it's useful for exploring.
| Ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| 10-minute ticket | 3 PLN (~$0.85) |
| 45-minute ticket | 5 PLN (~$1.40) |
| 24-hour pass | 15 PLN (~$4.15) |
| Weekend pass (Fri 8 PM–Sun midnight) | 15 PLN (~$4.15) |
Buy tickets from machines at stops, on the Jakdojade app, or tap contactless on newer trams.
Where to Eat
Brovaria — restaurant and microbrewery on the Old Market Square. Polish and European food with house-brewed beer. The beer garden overlooking the Town Hall is a solid post-race reward.
Stary Browar (10-minute walk from venue) — converted brewery with a good selection of restaurants for quick pre- or post-race meals.
Polish Food to Try
- Pierogi — stuffed dumplings with meat, cheese & potato, or sauerkraut & mushroom. Available everywhere
- Zurek — sour rye soup in a bread bowl with sausage and egg. Hearty and perfect for November
- Rogal swietomarcinski — Poznan's signature pastry, a crescent filled with white poppy seed paste. A protected regional specialty you can only get here
- Kotlet schabowy — breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes and cabbage
Budget eating: Look for bar mleczny (milk bars) — traditional Polish canteens with full meals for 15–25 PLN ($4–7). Supermarkets (Biedronka, Zabka, Lidl) are everywhere with cheap prepared food.
Essential Poznan Tips
Currency. Polish Zloty (PLN). 1 USD ≈ 3.63 PLN, 1 EUR ≈ 4.25 PLN. Poland is not in the eurozone.
Cash vs card. Cards accepted almost everywhere. Contactless works widely. Keep 50–100 PLN cash for milk bars or market stalls.
Tipping. 10% at restaurants if service was good. Rounding up for taxis is common. Not obligatory.
Language. English widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas. Dziekuje (jen-KOO-yeh) means "thank you" — use it.
Weather in November. Highs 2–8°C (36–46°F), lows around -2°C (28°F). About 8 hours of daylight. Bring warm layers, a winter jacket, gloves, and waterproof shoes.
Safety. Poznan is very safe. Standard precautions apply.

- St. Martin's Croissant Museum — interactive museum where you learn about and bake Poznan's famous croissant. You eat the results
